Are you ready to test your basic watercolor skills?
It’s important to simplify the learning by starting with approachable subjects that have little, to no details.
Then apply specific techniques to complete the study which is what I will do in this beginner watercolor tutorial.
The basic technique I will employ is wet-in-dry which is probably one of the easier skills to learn. That’s because you are applying wet paint over dry.
When you do this you have more control over the water-to-pigment ratio. BUT, the challenge is to use the right amount of pigment in each layer so that the study maintains a transparent quality.
I highly recommend you give this a try! Good luck and let me know how you do 🙂
- Using only two wash techniques you will create a simple painting of mountain ranges.
- The first technique used will be wet-in-wet while each of the following layers will be wet-in-dry.
